#METOO for blokes?

Katy Kloss.png

Good to see that there is no such thing as toxic femininity. Or is there? Poor old Katy Perry is in a bit of strife after being accused of exposing the genitalia of male model, Josh Kloss. Kloss claims, “as I turned to introduce my friend, she [Katy] pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us, my penis.”

He followed in a tweet saying, “I just say this now because our culture is set on proving men in power are perverse. But females with power are just as disgusting.

Believe all men? Kloss was paid $650 for his role in Teenage Dream. While he is at it he should complain about the rampant gender pay gap in modelling.

Man of Steal tripped up by his own kryptonite

The pin-up boy of politics, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, has been found guilty by the Conflict of Interest & Ethics Commissioner (COIEC) of being involved with interfering in the SNC-Lavalin corruption scandal. Only 70 days to go before Canadian peoplekind can sack him at the election because he is not looking to resign.

What a shame this darling of the left has fallen foul of breaching the ethics code, not once but twice. One hopes Canadians would have wanted him to prioritize his own ethics before lecturing them on feminism, climate change, cutting $10m cheques to convicted terrorists and not having enough money to support veterans.

The COIEC wrote in his summary,

The first step in my analysis was to determine whether Mr. Trudeau sought to influence the decision of the Attorney General as to whether she should intervene in a criminal prosecution involving SNC-Lavalin following the decision of the Director of Public Prosecutions. The evidence showed there were many ways in which Mr. Trudeau, either directly or through the actions of those under his direction, sought to influence the Attorney General.

Having reviewed several possible means of intervening in the matter, Ms. Wilson-Raybould made it known in September that she would not intervene in the Director of Public Prosecutions’ decision.

Mr. Trudeau met with Ms. Wilson-Raybould on September 17, 2018, at which time she reiterated her decision to not intervene in the Director of Public Prosecutions’ decision to not invite SNC-Lavalin to enter into a remediation agreement. She also expressed to Mr. Trudeau her concern of inappropriate attempts to interfere politically with the Attorney General in a criminal matter. Following this meeting, senior officials under the direction of Mr. Trudeau continued to engage both with SNC-Lavalin’s legal counsel and, separately, with Ms. Wilson-Raybould and her ministerial staff to influence her decision, even after SNC-Lavalin had filed an application for a judicial review of theDirector of Public Prosecutions’ decision. These attempts also included encouraging her to re-examine the possibility of obtaining external advice from “someone like” a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Unbeknownst to the Attorney General at that time, legal opinions from two former Supreme Court justices, retained by SNC-Lavalin, had been reviewed by the Prime Minister’s Office and other ministerial offices. Meanwhile, both SNC-Lavalin and the Prime Minister’s Office had approached the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to participate in the matter. The final attempt to influence Ms. Wilson-Raybould occurred during a conversation with the former Clerk of the Privy Council on December 19, 2018, as an appeal, on behalf of Mr. Trudeau, to impress upon her that a solution was needed to prevent the economic consequences of SNC-Lavalin not entering into negotiations for a remediation agreement.

Simply seeking to influence the decision of another person is insufficient for there to be a contravention of section 9. The second step of the analysis was to determine whether Mr. Trudeau, through his actions and those of his staff, sought to improperly further the interests of SNC-Lavalin.

The evidence showed that SNC-Lavalin had significant financial interests in deferring prosecution. These interests would likely have been furthered had Mr. Trudeau successfully influenced the Attorney General to intervene in the Director of Public Prosecutions’ decision. The actions that sought to further these interests were improper since they were contrary to the Shawcross doctrine and the principles of prosecutorial independence and the rule of law.

For these reasons, I found that Mr. Trudeau used his position of authority over Ms. Wilson-Raybould to seek to influence, both directly and indirectly, her decision on whether she should overrule the Director of Public Prosecutions’ decision not to invite SNC-Lavalin to enter into negotiations towards a remediation agreement.

Therefore, I find that Mr. Trudeau contravened section 9 of the Act.”

Trudeau had a hard task to out do his father for political incompetence. Yet he has exceeded admirably. From wearing Indian garb on a state visit to prosecuting the case on a plastics ban with water box bottle things and waving to empty airfields or speaking at the UNGA to a scattering if disinterested people on their mobile phones.

CM still wishes Rona Ambrose was Leader of the Conservatives but it looks as though Andrew Scheer shouldn’t have too much trouble becoming the next PM.

Rosanna Arquette checks her white privilege

Another brain dead champagne socialist from Hollywood has proven Einstein’s belief that “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.

This time, Rosanna Arquette told the world of her “disgust” and “shame” at the “white privilege” afforded her. She tweeted, “I’m sorry I was born white and privileged…it disgusts me and I feel so much shame“. If she feels so badly about maybe she should sell her mansion, move to a poor neighborhood and give her money away to charities that support non-white minorities. Only then can she atone for the sins of her parents for not making her another colour.

As ever this smacks more of a lack of career progression. Here is betting she does nothing about it other than moral preen. Because in this day and age showing you care on social media is enough. Who could forget the backlash against the 2016 election advert made by celebrities?

Bette Midler attacks the NRA

Champagne socialist Bette Midler, who recent flew her three pooches to be with her in Europe despite her leanings on climate change, decided she’d troll the NRA after the shootings in El Paso and Dayton.

Unfortunately Twitter turned on her suggesting she might tally the terminations at Planned Parenthood, which cycle at one every 97 seconds.

The reality is that 5m odd NRA members aren’t all gun-toting murderers.

Madness

CM was in Woolworths when he heard the band Madness, “My girl [is mad at me]” being played as BGM. The songs from Madness have stuck in the head since then and won’t seem to leave. Or is it because I’m subconsciously thinking the Mrs is actually mad at CM.

Press play at your peril!

The magic of varied ability sports

Having been so touched at the Invictus Games last year, it is so nice to hear another story of a young boy, Joseph Tidd, missing a limb sharing a magical moment with a player, Carson Picket who has the same condition. USWNT would do well to study how true champions interact.

To be honest while one can appreciate the efforts of an Usain Bolt, Marlene Ottey or a Michael Phelps in the Olympics breaking new records, there is a mystical spell cast when you see people missing limbs, blindness or another condition, overcoming incredible odds to compete.

Coming first is great for the varied ability competitors but every time you will see winners stay back and encourage those yet to finish to get across the line. The energy that brings to the crowd and to the athletes is nothing short of mesmerizing.

Forget the chest bumping of the elite athletes doing it generally for themselves. If one intends to go to the 2020 Olympics, forget it. Buy tickets to the 2020 Paralympics instead because you will literally see the impossible happen right before your eyes. It is utterly uplifting.

Note in Australia there is a group called Heroes with Abilities which gets groups of people with varied abilities to play rugby league. Same sort of passion and you’ll see people play for the joys of it rather than the trappings that come from it.

The wasted vote of Warringah

The only way Zali Steggall OAM MP could top off a plan to ban single-use plastics inside Parliament House is to get the government to declare a “climate emergency.” Don’t be surprised if she extends an invite to 16yo Greta Thunberg to lecture our politicians on how to panic and limit our already pithy levels of carbon emissions on a global basis. Her maiden speech only proved how little she grasps the facts around climate change, much less practice what she preached. Let’s hope the 1,000+ campaign supporters she said would be invited to watch the speech got more value than the emissions from the back of the fleet of diesel buses that will make the return journey.

Apparently, 2/3rds of Australians believe climate change is real and a threat. Presumably, if we take out coal lugging Queensland, that number must be closer to three-quarters. Zali, you missed a lay-up! Thankfully she can fall back on GetUp!’s state of the art propaganda machine.

What does any city or country actually prove or gain by being the 652nd on the list of anything? It is a perfect example of today’s “participation trophy” world. As CM has pointed out countless times, when you peel back the cover of the virtue signaling, there is little substance backing climate emergencies. Take the empty gestures of the Republic of Ireland, Sydney, Adelaide or Ryde Council which show how hollow the promise to do something tangible is at the coal face. Or Canada approving an oil pipeline expansion immediately after declaring its own climate emergency. Deeds, not words.

Honestly, is Zali Steggall across the details of the very participants she wishes to emulate? How embarrassing to discover they’re doing next to nothing outside of printing leaflets and chest-beating their own misguided altruism?

As a constituent of the Warringah electorate, it is nice to know that our MP Zali Steggall thinks we’ve become “moderates with a heart.” Prior to that, we must have been cold emotionless SUV driving zealots. Sadly, few have traded in their trucks for Teslas much less called up the local solar panel installers.

So when she says, “I believe Australia has always punched above its weight and never shied away from a challenge or doing its share.” The neighbouring Australian National University research confirms Australia’s per capita renewables deployment rate is four to five times faster than in the EU, the US, Japan and China. Is she aware of this tiny anecdote? So no need to get all hysteric over us lagging…we’re leading Zali!

Perhaps at the very least, she can get the government to propose what Los Angeles City has done – passed a motion to set up a Climate Emergency Mobilisation Department.

She needs to recognize her sole mission in life was to get rid of Tony Abbott. Job done. It is unlikely she’d pass Liberal pre-selection to run for the party and GetUp! won’t be deploying the same level of resources. Otherwise, she clearly shows herself to be completely unaware of her electorate and looks to be nothing more than a wasted vote.
