Whilst based in Tel Aviv in Feb 1940 the “Blue Light” magazine was distributed to Aussie Diggers weekly. This was an article written by the Commanding Officer, Major-General Skelton on how the troops should handle the Arab community while posted there. In one of his letters he noted that some soldiers were stabbed (some killed) for looking at Arab women, hence the Advice #4 provided. Posted from his perspective only on the prevailing thinking 78 years ago.
Interesting note on refugees inscribed by my grandfather with respect to them deliberately wrecking boats to assure landing.
