There are more pets sold than children born each year in Japan. JACCS are offering 12% loans to buy pets. While that fee covers pet insurance and vaccination I’m guessing they’re clearing at least 10%.

Perhaps the Bank of Japan shouldn’t be buying ETFs but pet stores or at least getting the loss making GPIF (national pension fund) to step up to the plate and invest in pet loan sharking.
