DW reports “that Austria’s highest court has ruled that the presidential election held in May must be repeated. The far-right Freedom Party whose candidate narrowly lost had claimed “massive irregularities” in the absentee vote.”
Post Brexit I think the FPO wins by a larger margin than the last election given the stunts pulled by the left in the last election with 150% voter turnouts and underage voters etc. the FPO was at 49.8% last election despite leading before postal votes.
My question is does Juncker issue threats to Austrians on who they can vote for democratically. Last time around he said the EU would refuse to endorse the FPO if it won and repeal voting rights and transfer payments from Austria. This will be telling. Many EU nations have felt the lack of democratic process so does Brussels tempt fate?
